The Young Women and Young Men general presidencies have announced that the 2022 Youth Theme is “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

The theme from Proverbs 3:5-6 was selected as a natural evolution from the 2021 theme, “A Great Work,” from Doctrine and Covenants 64:33.

The Young Men and Young Women general presidencies told youth at the beginning of this year, “You are called by a prophet to ‘lay the foundation of a great work.’ As we trust in Jesus Christ and seek to do His will, we make a difference!” (“A Great Work,” For the Strength of Youth, January 2021).

The “Trust in the Lord” theme also correspnds with the 2022 course of study for seminary and Come, Follow Me, which will be the Old Testament, and goes hand in hand with the Children and Youth program.

A notice sent August 2 to local Church leaders from the Young Men and Young Women general presidencies encourages parents and youth leaders to teach principles from the theme scripture at home and at church throughout the year. The theme can be used as a topic for youth sacrament meeting talks and to provide focus for youth activities, including camps, youth conferences and devotionals. The theme also will be emphasized during FSY conferences worldwide.

Resources — including music, videos and art — will be available in the coming months on ChurchofJesusChrist.org/youth, on social media channels, and in the For the Strength of Youth magazine.
