Elder David A. Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles answered questions from social media during his third Instagram Live question-and-answer session. Elder Bednar also testified of the Savior Jesus Christ during the live event.

He spoke from the Church Administration Building in Salt Lake City, Utah. Thousands watched the event live and as well as the recording posted on Elder Bednar’s Instagram account.

The questions asked during the event included the following:

  • How can I find peace in my life?
  • How can we develop a greater sense of belonging at Church?
  • People tell me all the time to just “use the Atonement.” How does one use the Atonement of Jesus Christ in their lives?

“The Savior paid a debt He did not owe, because we owe a debt we cannot pay. There is an element of dependance in coming to understand the Atonement of Jesus Christ,” he said.

“Yes, we need to exercise faith in Him, and yes, we need to keep the commandments and honor our covenants. But all that we can do is never enough to be worthy and able to return to the presence of our Heavenly Father. It is only through the merits and the mercy and the grace of the Holy Messiah that we can return back to the presence of our Heavenly Father.”

To end the 20-minute long Instagram Live, Elder Bednar testified of God the Father and the transformative power that is available through His Only Begotten Son Jesus Christ.
