Winter Quarters Nebraska Temple

Plans to construct the temple were announced 14 June 1999, Church leaders broke ground 28 November 1999, and Gordon B. Hinckley, president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1995 to 2008, dedicated the Winter Quarters Nebraska Temple 22 April 2001. The temple serves Latter-day Saints in Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota and Kansas.

The 10,700-square-foot temple’s exterior is Bethel white granite.

Currently, there are more than 20 temples in various stages of construction or have been announced throughout the world.
