Homebuilding Project in Samoa

Breadfruit, guava fruit and poumuli trees were destroyed during a tsunami which hit the South Pacific islands of Samoa, and now the trees are being used to give new life to families in the region.

News coverage in the Samoa Observer shows among other organizations, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, stepping in to assist in constructing homes.

Two months after the tragedy, seven homes are nearly finished.

The Church and its members donated over 200 poumuli posts to use in building homes.
