Over the past three years, farmers in central Cambodia have achieved increasing yields in their rice fields thanks in part to a partnership between the Cambodian government and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
KSL religion reporter Carole Mikita's recent story showed how Latter-day Saint humanitarian missionaries are working to help rice farmers double production in the field.
"This particular project, the number of beneficiaries would be well over a hundred thousand, I suspect," said Elder Lowell Curtis, a full-time missionary from Riverton, Utah. "There aren't any members of the Church who have directly benefited from it. It's just an attempt to help individuals wherever the help may be needed without consideration for religion or national origin."
