Last week The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints released a Latter-day Saint edition of the Holy Bible in Spanish. Since the announcement, enthusiastic reactions have come from Spanish-speaking Mormons in various parts of the world.

The new volume contains new chapter headings, footnotes and cross-references to all scriptures used by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The release of the new Bible will benefit nearly 4.5 million Spanish-speaking members of the Church.

Ageo Garcia Morales, from Mexico, who was interviewed for the World Report program, said:

"I believe that it will be a blessing for many members of the Church, especially converts. They can understand and relate the Bible with the Book of Mormon, with Doctrine and Covenants and with the Pearl of Great Price."

Junny Ruiz, also from Mexico, said:

"You can feel the love of God that He wants us to study the scriptures in our own language. And now it will be easier and more accessible."

Since Monday, feedback popped up all over the Internet with messages of excitement and gratitude. Some reactions were shared on the Church's official Newsroom Facebook page.

Yamil Inostroza, from Chile, commented on Facebook saying:

"It's great, I had the opportunity to have it in my hands, and I know that it is an impressive and unique work and we will have more effective scripture study. ... Thank you very much to all who allowed this wonderful work to be carried out."

Agostina Scialfa, from Argentina, also commented on Facebook:

"Sunday when we received word that it came to (Argentina), I was very happy! ... It really is a beautiful thing! One can really see the promises of the Lord being accomplished."

Church leaders began the process of producing a Spanish Latter-day Saint Bible in response to the increasing number of Spanish-speaking members of the Church. The volume is similar in purpose to the Church's 1979 English edition of the King James Bible, which, with its cross-references and study helps, made the scriptures much more accessible to English-speaking Latter-day Saints.

This new edition is available in printed, electronic and audio (Old Testament here, New Testament here) formats.
