The website and monthly temple open house newsletter provide additional information on other events and opportunities:
- Information is provided for those interested in volunteering for the open house.
- Details are forthcoming for a youth service opportunity, with those ages 16 to 18 from the temple district able to help plant flowers on the temple grounds.
- Visitors to the website are invited to write an online submission of their connection to and feelings about the temple or highlights from their open house experiences in a “Share With Us” section at pocatellotemple.org. Submissions may be considered for possible inclusion in the temple cornerstone capsule.
- Special “invited guest” tours are planned for early September for local youth and young single adults, where they can invite friends of other faiths to go through the open house with them or serve as tour guides during the age-specific dates and times.
A youth devotional will be held on Saturday, November 6, just prior to the dedication on Sunday, November 7, 2021, presided by President M. Russell Ballard, acting president of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. The dedicatory sessions and youth devotional will be broadcast to all congregations in the Pocatello Idaho Temple District.
Ground was broken for the temple, located at 3100 Butte Street in Pocatello in southeastern Idaho, in the spring of 2019. Church President Thomas S. Monson announced the temple in April 2017.
The temple, located in Pocatello (known as the Gate City), Idaho, USA, will be the Gem State’s sixth operating temple. Other temples are in Boise, Idaho Falls, Meridian, Rexburg and Twin Falls. President Russell M. Nelson announced a seventh temple in Burley.
