The dedication of the San Juan Puerto Rico Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be on Sunday, January 15, 2023.

Elder D. Todd Christofferson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles will preside.

The temple will be will be dedicated in three sessions: at 9 a.m., noon, and 3 p.m. The sessions will be broadcast to all congregations in the San Juan Puerto Rico Temple district.

A public open house was held from December 1, 2022, to December 17.

The San Juan Puerto Rico Temple will be the first house of the Lord in the territory. The current temple district for members living in Puerto Rico is the Santo Domingo Dominican Republic Temple.

The temple — a single-story edifice with a single, front-end spire and architectural design common to the island — is located at 123 Calle Ronda of Urbanización Villa Andalucía in San Juan’s Trujillo Alto area.

President Nelson announced a temple for San Juan during October 2018 general conference, with the first renderings of the planned temple released just a few weeks later.

Elder Walter F. González, a General Authority Seventy who was President of the Caribbean Area at the time, presided over the May 4, 2019, groundbreaking.
