Conquering Genetic-Based Illnesses

Researchers combining Utah’s unique access to population and genealogical records will lead to the conquest of genetic-based illnesses according to University of Utah president, Michael K. Young.

Speaking of those undertaking this research, Young said: “We remain committed to supporting the researchers and scientists who are daily bringing life-changing discoveries to light.”

Young says that the university’s ability to engage in this exploration is made possible in large part by the location and accessibility of the Utah Population Database, which gives University of Utah researchers an advantage found no where else in the world.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has made available genealogical records that assist researchers in their work.
