David M. McConkie was serving as a stake president when he was called as the first counselor in the Sunday School general presidency in April 2009. Previous Church service includes serving as a counselor in a stake presidency, on a high council and as a bishop.
McConkie is an attorney practicing law at a Salt Lake City-based law firm. He received his law degree from the University of Utah. McConkie and his wife, JoAnne, are the parents of seven children.
