The Tacoma Dome, a venue that seats up to 23,000 people and is used for concerts, exhibitions and sporting events, hosted 2,200 Mormon youth last weekend. The young people performed three dance shows after seven months of rehearsals.
The performers paid tribute to Mormon pioneers who first arrived in Utah’s Salt Lake Valley on 24 July 1847 before settling many other communities throughout the west of the United States.
The News Tribune reported on the event. To see video of the youth practicing before the performances, visit the The Olympian newspaper’s Web site and then click on Olycast under the video reports section.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints provides many activities for youth, from Scouting and sports to fine arts.
