Church Leaders Visit Caroline Kennedy, U.S. Ambassador to Japan

While leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints were in Japan recently, they met with Caroline Kennedy, United States Ambassador to Japan, at the American Embassy in Tokyo.

Elder M. Russell Ballard of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and Elder Ronald A. Rasband of the Presidency of the Seventy were accompanied by Elder Michael T. Ringwood, Asia North Area President, and Sister Mitsue Jensen, the Tokyo Shibuya Ward Relief Society president. They visited with Ambassador Kennedy, the first female U.S. ambassador to Japan, on February 23, 2015. She is also the daughter of President John F. Kennedy, the 35th president of the United States.

Discussions centered on the role of women in society and in the Church, and the humanitarian efforts of the Church in Japan. Elder Ballard shared information about Mormon Helping Hands and offered Church assistance in other projects.
