Hispanic Family History Conference Begins

The Hispanic Genealogy Conference began today at the Family History Library near Temple Square in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah.

Conference attendees will spend two days learning how to research Hispanic family lines.

Rebecca Alviso from Monterey Park, California, came to Salt Lake City to work on her own family history and attend the classes being offered. Using the library’s extensive records, she was able to find her great-grandparents’ marriage record – a document she had never seen before today. She also found the names of her 3rd great-grandparents — information her family did not have.

“It is wonderful to know who I am, to know my history,” she said. “I cannot wait to go back home and tell my family!”
