Russia: Communities Happy for Mormon Helping Hands Work
Parks, streets, orphanages, playgrounds and stadiums in several Russian cities received a Mormon Helping Hands spring cleaning.
Hundreds of Latter-day Saints and their neighbors in Mormon Helping Hands vests cleaned in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Podolsk, Yaroslavl, Tomsk and other Russian cities.

DR Congo: Love, Service and Water Strengthen Gardens and Community
Kinshasa community leaders and residents have expressed joy and gratitude for a better process of using water for vegetable gardens.
Padic, a nongovernmental agency, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints worked together to solve residents’ water retention problems and help them raise gardens for food and to sell to make an income.

Ghana: Unemployed People in Accra Learn Job Skills
An open house in Accra with Church-sponsored employment workshops and instruction was provided recently for people seeking jobs.
The instruction is an ongoing opportunity for people to fine-tune their job skills so they can become more marketable in the work place. The courses also help people learn how to write an effective resume, prepare for job interviews and plan a career.

Dominican Republic: Latter-day Saints Promote Good Health
More than a thousand people in need from the Dominican Republic city of San José de Ocoa have benefited from the National Route Cardiovascular Health campaign organized by the Heart Care Dominicana Foundation. Mormon Helping Hands volunteers assisted in the campaign.
During the campaign, patients were examined and given free medications. A 12-year old girl was concerned about her grandmother and traveled with her by bus for an hour so she could be examined.

Ecuador: Major Tree Planting Event Brings Happiness
More than 600 trees were planted in Quito, Ecuador, the result of a Mormon Helping Hands partnership with community leaders.
The volunteer effort was aimed at the Metropolitan Park Chilibulo located south of Quito, an important green-space area. The mayor and city council members participated in the tree planting as well.

Chile: Mormon Helping Hands Assist Fire Cleanup
An April fire in the city of Valparaiso, Chile, devastated homes and left many homeless. Not long after the fire thousands of Church members and missionaries cleaned the charred remains of homes and gathered clothes for the victims.

Guatemala: Family Week Celebrated
Local Mormon leaders recently presented awards to two people who have made significant contributions in strengthening the family, the basic unit of society.
Hope Beard, a recognized motivational speaker, and Carlos Vargas, founder of Hope for Life International, received the Family Values Award, which the Church gives locally to honor individuals for promoting family values.

California: Mormons Help Stop Hunger Now
More than 800 Latter-day Saints joined with Stop Hunger Now, a nonprofit organization, to package 100,000 meals for children in need around the world.
