“Positive spiritual momentum increases as we worship in the temple and grow in our understanding of the magnificent breadth and depth of the blessings we receive there,” he said then.

Dedicated temples in Mexico are found in Ciudad Juárez, Colonia Juárez, Guadalajara, Hermosillo, Mérida, Mexico City, Monterrey, Oaxaca, Puebla, Tampico, Tijuana, Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Veracruz and Villahermosa. The Harrisburg Pennsylvania Temple will be the third in the state. The Philadelphia Pennsylvania Temple was dedicated in September 2016 by President Henry B. Eyring of the First Presidency, and the Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Temple was dedicated in September 2024 by Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
Pennsylvania, which is home to more than 53,000 Latter-day Saints, was host to many significant events in the early days of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Much of the Book of Mormon was translated in the town of Harmony, and the first members of the Church were baptized in the Susquehanna River in May 1829.
Jacksonville Florida Temple
Thirdly, a rendering has been released for the exterior of the Jacksonville Florida Temple.
Plans call for a single-story temple of approximately 29,000 square feet to be constructed on a 6.6-acre site located at 3323 Loretto Road, Jacksonville, Florida.
President Russell M. Nelson announced this house of the Lord in October 2022. “I promise that increased time in the temple will bless your life in ways nothing else can,” he said before announcing 18 new houses of the Lord, including the Jacksonville Florida Temple.
The four other temples that are announced, under construction or in operation in Florida are the Fort Lauderdale Florida Temple, Orlando Florida Temple, Tallahassee Florida Temple and the Tampa Florida Temple.
Missionaries first arrived in Florida in 1845. The state’s first congregation was created in 1897 in the Big Bend region of this southeastern state.

Missouri is home to more than 80,000 Latter-day Saints in over 160 congregations. In the 1830s, Independence, Missouri, and its surrounding counties were important gathering places for Latter-day Saints in the early days of the Church.
Winchester Virginia Temple

This house of the Lord will be built on a 11.27-acre site located at 200 Merrimans Lane, Winchester, Frederick County, Virginia 22601. Plans call for a single-story temple of approximately 30,000 square feet.

“Let us never lose sight of what the Lord is doing for us now. He is making His temples more accessible. He is accelerating the pace at which we are building temples. He is increasing our ability to help gather Israel,” President Nelson said then.
Argentina is home to more than 481,000 Latter-day Saints in nearly 730 congregations. The Buenos Aires City Center Argentina Temple will be the seventh house of the Lord in Argentina. Other temples that are announced, under construction or in operation in Argentina are in Bahía Blanca, Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Mendoza and Rosario.
The Salta Argentina Temple was dedicated on June 16, 2024, by Elder D. Todd Christofferson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
The Church’s history in Argentina goes back to 1923, when two German immigrants began preaching the gospel in Buenos Aires.
Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints consider temples the house of the Lord and the most sacred places of worship on the earth. Temples differ from the Church’s meetinghouses or chapels. All can attend Sunday worship services and other weekday activities at local meetinghouses. The primary purpose of temples, however, is for faithful members of the Church to participate in sacred ceremonies, such as marriages that unite families forever and proxy baptisms on behalf of deceased ancestors who did not have the opportunity to be baptized while living.
