Members of the Sunday School presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints now have official Instagram and Facebook accounts to expand their global ministries. The photo- and video-based social media platforms are used by millions of people around the world.
The Church leaders’ use of social media platforms demonstrates a desire to connect with members around the world using technology. Presidency members hope to be a source of learning and inspiration for all who come across their pages.
The Sunday School presidency members made introductory posts on Thursday, April 22, 2021:
“We are thrilled with this opportunity to connect with members from all over the world on social media,” Sunday School President Mark L. Pace said. “Each member of our presidency has a testimony of the power that comes from prayerfully studying the scriptures with the Come, Follow Me resource. Studying the scriptures in our homes during the week invites the Holy Ghost into our lives and brings about the miracle of conversion. Conversion is our goal.
“We plan to use these social media accounts to share messages and content that may be helpful and inspiring to teachers, individuals and families, as we all seek to strengthen our testimonies of Jesus Christ. We also hope to use these accounts to hear about and share the successes of amazing Church members throughout the world who are following President Nelson’s counsel to remodel their homes into sanctuaries of faith. We commend you for creating a home-centered church-supported gospel learning experience. May the Lord bless you for your efforts!”
