Church Leaders in Pacific Area Express Condolences Over Tsunami Devastation

In the aftermath of the devastating earthquake and tsunami in the South Pacific, the local Public Affairs office in that area has issued this news release, posted on the New Zealand/Pacific Islands Church Web site.

In the release, Elder Tad R. Callister, area president of the Church's Pacific Area, says:

"We understand the great feelings of sadness and loss that are being experienced by the citizens of the three countries. This event has caused much hardship and suffering. We mourn with all those whose loved ones perished in the tsunami. We have been deeply affected by the loss of so many lives, which includes a number of our own Church members."
